Long Day in Los Olivos. Started and Ended on the Joints.

Long Day in Los Olivos. Started and Ended on the Joints.

Beautiful country. Long day.

I just wrapped the 2026 Santa Barbara Vintners Festival Grand Tasting at Firestone Estate in Los Olivos. Wine country looks the way it’s supposed to look in October — quiet hills, good light, people actually enjoying themselves. Behind the scenes it was the usual festival clock: early, on your feet, moving, standing, shifting weight, resetting stations, keeping the day moving until it was done.

Joints felt it by late morning. That’s normal.

I put Jim’s on the knees and lower legs before the first shift. Thin layer. Let it sit. Then I went to work.

Same thing at the end of the day. Shower first. Then another pass on the joints before I sat down for real. Not a recovery ritual. Just the jar that was already in the bag.

I woke up the next morning ready to do it again if I had to. No drama. No “I need a day off.” Just functional. That’s the whole point when the work is physical and the schedule doesn’t care how your knees feel at 4 p.m.

Easy money is easier when the joints aren’t negotiating with you at the end of the shift.

Jim’s is the CBD + DMSO cream so it doesn’t sit on the surface. THC-free. A little goes a long way on clean skin. Same move I’ve been using on festival weekends and long field days.

Los Olivos was a good one. The hills looked right. The day was long. The joints held up.
